Book Review for: Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan

I finally read the book everyone was talking so much about, and I finally understood why. Crazy Rich Asians was a genuinely hilarious AND an interesting book. It was so different from all the books I read this year.

In the beginning the elaborate details that were given about the ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ and their lifestyle kind of annoyed me but then as I quickly caught the groove of the book I thoroughly enjoyed all the bragging. And I learned so much about Singapore and their exquisite traditions. This book absolutely changed my perspective about the whole Far East Asia.

I loved how the author had described the meals of their island so deliciously, it made me want to go to Singapore myself and see if the descriptions he gave were really true, or in real life it’s even better.

However I really wish the bad had more insight of the background story for Rachel and nick’s love story. I wanted to know how exactly they fell in love, what they spoke about. Did they ever get annoyed at each other? I wanted to know every small beautiful detail even if it made the book a lot longer.

Overall ‘Crazy Rich Asian’ was a highly entertaining novel and perfect as a summer vacation read. I give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

My favorite quote: “Remember, every treasure comes with a price.”
