The Night Circus is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night. But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway—a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors.'
The night circus wasn't the best book I ever read, nor was it the worst. It wasn't that *EPIC* as some people described it. I have heard a lot of mixed reviews for this book, some absolutely loved it and some hated it. I will give you an honest review about what I actually thought about the book.
The storyline and the plot were interesting but the characters were not. Most of the characters were boring, plain and irritating to a point where I just wanted to abandon the whole thing. I didn't find the love story between the two main characters romantic or magical at all even though I love romance novels and this book was mostly about magic.
I must confess the fact that this book was written beautifully and every description given were magical, so much that I wished The Night Circus really existed in the real world. The time and date of the story changed so abruptly that most of the time I got confused enough to read the previous pages to catch up. It was excruciatingly slow and I just couldn't finish it faster enough even if I wanted to.
If you want to read something super slow, in fact as slow as a turtle, I suggest you to read this. 2/5 Stars.
