Woman in the Window was SO unpredictable that I think I probably might have gasped out loud a couple of times while reading this book.
You might be a super calm and resilient person in real life but I bet you to NOT to get shocked by mysteries that’ll unfold in this book. You couldn’t. I couldn’t, either! That’s among the main reasons why I liked this book so much.
Now comes that parts I didn’t like about this book so much. There were a lot of chapters in this book that felt too stretched out and at one point I thought it’ll probably be best if I DNF-ed it. But that’s something I can’t usually do so I carried on. Eventually as the mystery kept unfolding the story kept getting more and more intriguing.
The main lead of this book, Dr. Anna Fox is a children’s psychotherapist who got triggered by Agoraphobia (a type of anxiety disorder) after an unfortunate incident. So she feels safe living indoors with all the doors and windows closed with her cat. She also tends to secretly spy on most of her neighbors through her window…because she likes it. You can know from this short description on how messed up this mystery novel will get as you keep reading it.
If you like reading books that are SO mysterious that it keeps boggling your mind, then this book is definitely for you.
A 3 out of 5 stars for this weird novel. 🌟 🌟 🌟
Favorite quote: “If there's one thing I've learned in all my time working with children, if I could whittle those years down to a single revelation, it's this: They are extraordinarily resilient. They can withstand neglect; they can survive abuse; they can endure, even thrive, where adults would collapse like umbrellas.”
EXTRAS: ok so, I found out about the controversial information about the author AJ Finn through my friends and I must point this out. I gave this book a good rating only because it had genuinely entertained me. I am in no way supporting the author for what he said or did in anyway because he was clearly wrong for what he did. I am simply reviewing a book. So no judgments!
