Six of Crows
This book was a heartbreaker, it broke my heart from all places and spaces, yet I loved it entirely. It was not at all like any other fantasy novels, romance barely existed in it; but the very slight amount the writer provided was just more than enough. It had adventure, magic and entertainment.
It started out a kind of slow but the character Kaz Brekker made every chapters more gripping and intriguing, and his fighting sequence were just fantastic! All the characters had a past and a dream for the future that made the whole story pop out even more. I’d give this book a 4/5 stars. There were so many good quotes that I loved but if I had to choose one it would be:
“She wouldn't wish love on anyone. It was the guest you welcomed and then couldn't get rid of.”
Crooked Kingdom
*Warning* Do not read this book if you hate being heartbroken by amazing authors.
If Six of Crows was a heartbreaking novel, then Crooked Kingdom was a heart wrenching one. I genuinely felt the *pang* of a heartbreak in my heart just when I was reading the book. I might sound too dramatic, but it’s true! This book was like a train; it didn’t stop entertaining me the whole way. As I kept reading the book I learned more about each and every character and their histories. The author made me fall in love with every single one of them. I’d give this book a 4/5 stars.
My favorite quote from Crooked Kingdom was:
“Crows remember human faces. They remember the people who feed them, who are kind to them. And the people who wrong them too. They don’t forget. They tell each other who to look after and who to watch out for.”
